Weekly Classes at The Underdog

Dance and other sports require not only strength, but a wide range of motion, well-balanced movement, and good flexibility - all of which are achieved through proper stretching routines. We are excited for you to join us for stretching classes that will help to develop mobility, work on flexibility goals, and just FEEL GOOD! Instructor Irina brings her experience from years in gymnastics, ballroom, and competitive pole dance, to share her curated collection of stretches with you.

For Those Who Never Thought They Could

Underdog Class Levels

class Levels & Experience

  • For those with no dance experience whatsoever, looking to start dancing for the first time as an adult. Classes are taught at the pace of the students, with lots of emphasis on repetition, and are based on foundational skills.

  • For those with some experience in the chosen style, or some general fundamental technique. Choreography is taught at a slower pace with more repetition, and is based on foundational skills, with some light introduction to new movement patterns.

  • For dancers with strong foundations looking to refine technique, musicality, and styling. Choreography builds in complexity and extends beyond the foundations in the chosen style.

  • For dancers with a strong technique foundation looking to focus more on quality of execution, musicality, and/or looking to refine their ability to retain choreography quickly. Students may require an assessment to join some advanced courses. It is recommended to have a high degree of strength, mobility, and coordination to participate in these classes.

  • Open to dancers of all levels, with opportunities for increasing or decreasing the difficulty. Some dance experience is recommended to join an open level class.

    • Comfy, stretchy clothes that are easy to move in

    • Your yoga mat, two yoga blocks, and a non-stretchy strap or scarf

    • Socks or indoor only shoes

    • Refillable water bottle

    Please do not wear outdoor shoes in the studio.

  • Join our deep stretch instructor for a 50 minute session that guides you through developing range of motion, end range strength, and deep, relaxing stretches. Don't forget your yoga mat! Then your instructor will lead you through a warm up and explanation of some fundamental skills.

  • We especially want you to join if you have no dance experience! We specialize in helping newbies fall in love with dance

  • Our drop-ins are only $25.00 per class (plus HST). If you decide you love us and want to become a member, classes can be as low as $12.50 each!
