YOUR FIRST DANCE, MADE SIMPLE
You don’t need to be dancers already.
You don’t need a big performance (unless you want one).
Maybe you just need a quiet moment to connect. With each other, with the music, and with the day.
At Underdog, we help couples feel calm, prepared, and proud of their first dance. Whether you’re starting six months out or walking in three weeks before the wedding, we’ll meet you where you are.
From choosing a song to navigating your dress, cutting your music, and helping you move together with ease; we’ve got you.
Testimonials
“I booked 10 classes with Emily at Underdog to learn a custom choreography for our wedding dance and I'm glad I did! We had almost no dance experience but Emily made the learning process fun for us; she was patient and made sure we were comfortable and confident with each move. On the wedding day, everyone cheered so loud during the lifts and we got so many compliments on our dance!!

“Emily helped my wife and I with our wedding routine and we couldn’t be happier about it. She was patient with us, super receptive about moves we did or did not want, and was overall amazing to work with. So much so we plan on signing up for more classes with her for fun!”

“My partner and I booked a one hour lesson with Emily to help us with some basic choreography for our Wedding first dance. We didn't want something fully choreographed, but wanted to understand how to move and not look awkward and silly.
Emily is such an incredible teacher! She was friendly, approachable, and was very good at explaining things for a couple of dance newbies. We left our lesson with some basic moves and a couple of fun tricks, and successfully completed our first dance without looking like fools.
Would highly recommend lessons here!
Thank you so much, Emily!”

How Many Lessons Will We Need?
Every couple is different, but here’s a general idea of what to expect:
We’ll always tailor our recommendations to your goals, your song, and the time you have available.
How Often Should We Take Lessons?
Most couples do just fine with one lesson per week. This gives you time to absorb what you’ve learned, practice at home (even just a little), and come back ready to build on it.
A common misconception is that you should increase the number of lessons as the wedding gets closer. In reality, that’s often when other details—like RSVPs, fittings, or vendor coordination—start to take up more of your time and energy.
Instead, we recommend starting earlier and front-loading your lessons. This gives you time to learn at a relaxed pace, and lets you taper off closer to the big day when your to-do list gets longer.
If you're just getting started and the wedding is right around the corner, don’t worry—we’ll make the most of the time you have.
Our private first dance lessons are 45 minutes long. You can book a single lesson, or save by purchasing a package of 5 or 10 lessons, depending on what fits your timeline and goals.
We’ll always guide you toward the option that makes the most sense for you—no pressure, just honest advice.

We include a short worksheet at the end to help you start organizing your thoughts. It’s a good place to start—especially if you’re not sure what questions to ask yet.
