Phil Roy discovered his passion for dance at the age of 19, when he began training at San Tropez Dance School in Montreal. What started as a casual interest quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit of rhythm, movement, and connection. After moving to Halifax, Phil joined the Halifax Salseros, where he immersed himself in the local Latin dance community and began developing his dynamic teaching style.

Eager to expand his artistic range, Phil explored Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre through DalDance at Dalhousie University, blending diverse styles into his approach to movement and performance. With over 12 years of teaching experience, he has become known for his energy, patience, and ability to make complex techniques accessible to dancers of all levels.

Before relocating, Phil was the lead instructor at Haliente, where he inspired countless students to grow their confidence and find joy through dance. Now based with Underdog Dance Corp, he brings his passion, versatility, and love of community to every class he teaches.
