Salar began his journey in the salsa and bachata scene during 2017 by joining the Latin Dance Club at the University of Guelph. He met Emily who was one of the instructors, and her welcoming energy sparked his passion for Latin dance and set him on a path of constant growth and learning.

Though he never imagined becoming an instructor (especially having faced mental health challenges and struggling with confidence), Salar eventually embraced the role with gratitude. Teaching has been a meaningful way for him to give back to the community that once supported him. His goal is to always create a kind and encouraging environment in his classes, just like Emily offered him when he first stepped onto the dance floor. He's always happy to dance with his students and help them bring up their confidence through dance, just as it did for him.
