Salsa DANCE CLASSES
Weekly Classes at The Underdog
Join us at Waterloo’s most encouraging and inclusive studio to learn to dance salsa in a social setting! We will take you through all of the basic steps, holds, and turns for dancing with a partner in an improvised way. You do not need any experience, and you do not need a partner.
We have new courses starting every month at the studio, and we would love to welcome you!
Start with the “Salsa Foundations” course for complete beginners! After “Foundations”, you can move on to “Salsa Beginner”, which most people will take 2-3 times before progressing to intermediate level classes.
No partner needed! We will "rotate" through many different partners in class. While you are always welcome to bring and dance with a dedicated partner, we believe it's actually beneficial to dance with as many people as you can!
For Those Who Never Thought They Could

The class itself is 50 minutes long. We usually spend about 5 minutes all introducing ourselves and covering ground rules and anything else you might need to know! Then your instructor will lead you through a warm up and explanation of some fundamental skills. We typically wrap up by learning a fun little combo that you can practice at home if you like!
